Saving Gas Money
Tips For Pumping Gas. ?
I don’t know what you guys are paying for gasoline…. but here in
California we are also paying higher up to $3.50 per gallon. But my line of
work is in petroleum for about 31 years now so here are some tricks to get more
of your money’s worth for every gallon.. ?
Here at the Kinder Morgan Pipeline where I work in San Jose, CA we deliver
about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline. One day is
diesel the next day is jet fuel and gasoline regular and premium grades. We
have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16800000 gallons. ?
Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground
temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their
storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the
gasoline when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in
the evening….your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business
the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel,
ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role. ?
A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service
stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps. ?
When you’re filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast
mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low,
middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed hereby
minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the
pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate so other liquid
that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back
into the underground storage tank so you’re getting less worth for your
One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL or
HALF EMPTY. The reason for this is the more gas you have in your tank the less
air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine.
Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero
clearance between the gas and the atmospheres it minimizes the evaporation.
Unlike service stations here where I work ?every truck that we load is
temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount. ?
Another reminder if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks
when you stop to buy gas DO NOT fill up–most likely the gasoline is being
stirred up as the gas is being delivered and you might pick up some of the dirt
that normally settles on the bottom. Hope this will help you get the most value
for your money. ?
DO SHARE THESE TIPS WITH OTHERS!
WHERE TO BUY USA GAS THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON?
Gas rationing in the 80’s worked even though we grumbled about it. It might
even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return
the favor.. ?
An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. ?
Every time you fill up the car you can avoid putting more money into the
coffers of Saudi Arabia . Just buy from gas companies that don’t import
their oil from the Saudis. ?
Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the
tank. I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me my family and
my friends. ?
I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the
best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil. ?
These companies import Middle Eastern oil: ?
Shell……………………… 205742000 barrels ?
Chevron/Texaco……… 144332000 barrels ?
Exxon/Mobil…………… 130082000 barrels ?
Marathon/Speedway… 117740000 barrels ?
Amoco……………………….62231000 barrels ?
Citgo gas is from South America from a Dictator who hates Americans. If you do
the math at $30/barrelthese imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $90
– $100 a barrel ?
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil: ?
Sunoco………………0 barrels ?
Conoco……………….0 barrels ?
Sinclair……………….0 barrels ?
BP/Phillips…………..0 barrels ?
Hess…………………..0 barrels ?
If you go to Sunoco.com you will get a list of the station locations near you.
All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is
required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. ?
But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers.
It’s really simple to do. ?
Now don’t ?wimp out at this point…. keep reading and I’ll explain how
simple it is to reach millions of people!! ?
I’m sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at
least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)…and those 300 send it to at least ten more
(300 x 10 = 3000) ?and so on by the time the message reaches the sixth
generation of people we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers !!!!!!!
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each then 30
million people will have been contacted! ?
If it goes one level further you guessed it ….. THREE HUNDRED MILLION
Again all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How long would all that

PROFOUND statement about READING

Top 3 Golf Tip…….. EVER
Have you ever heard of a Golf Hypnotist?
If not, its worth researching. They say the game is 90% mental. Im not sure its that much, however the thoughts in your mind when over a golf ball make a HUGE difference.
I was hypnotized by a lady named Michelle Beaudry(407-862-9144).
All I can tell you is…. I’m thinking much more positive, more clearly, and my scores have come down an average of 3-7 strokes TO the mid- 70’s.
I’d highly recommend looking into golf hypnosis to improve your game.

Trade in old paperback books
For avid readers who have lots of old books that are gathering dust, turn in your used paperback books for cash or credit towards the purchase of other books at a discount price. If there is not a book store near you that does this kind of an exchange you can go on line and find many sites such as CKY, Amazon etc.

I believe EVERYONE likes to READ.
Its a matter of WHAT you like to read.
I suspect you may have the wrong things in your hands.
Some like the sports page, some the comics, some crossword puzzles, and some People Magazine or STAR.
I submit.. if you think you don\’t like reading .. you just have the wrong book in your hand.
Just something to ponder….

Great way to “preserve” Sports Memories
When my sports team won the World Series, instead of rushing out to buy expensive and poorly made t-shirts and sweatshirts, I laminated four front pages of my local paper. The total cost was $8. Years from now, when the clothing souvenirs are a faded distant memory, I bet my homemade souvenir hanging up in the basement will still be a conversation starter.

Sports SWAP ( $$$ Money saver for all)
Every year we have a swap for sports equipment. We make sure to have kids of all sizes and we swap cleats, ball pants, bats, balls, helmets, etc. All must be in good to excellent condition and everyone gets most of their equipment for nothing. This is especially nice now when this economy is so bad and a bat and cleats cost over $100. This is a huge savings for the parents and the kids love it because they get to spend a few hours with their friends. This would be easy to setup anywhere. Just have each family bring their ball equipment and a finger food and have a night of swapping.

Gardening:: Indoor plant watering tip
Neat Indoor Plant Watering
To water flowers indoors, under your carport or anywhere you don’t want to make a mess, take an old dish detergent bottle and fill it with water (the kind that has the pull-out tip on it). This type of bottle works great. Add some Miracle-Gro(r) or other favorite fertilizer, and watch the mess disappear and the flowers grow.

Attention:: Any SEWING LOVERS
Here is a tip for people who sew. Sewing patterns are getting expensive, and especially with children’s patterns, you end up cutting off three or more sizes when you cut out a pattern. I got this tip from a quilter. Trace the pattern onto freezer paper and cut out the freezer paper. Use the freezer paper to cut the pattern pieces out of your fabric. Iron the freezer paper to the fabric so you do not have to mark up your fabric with dots, dashes, etc.

Paint how much you will earn.
Take a big painting canvas (ex: 1m X 1m)
paint the number 1(big,small,red,blue,thin or kursiv. you choose)
Then you take a picture of it with a camera.
Do the same with the number 2 and 3 etc..
when you have paintet 10 000 different numbers all over the canvas with different colors and size, you may have a cool and special picture.
And you will also have 10 000 pictures on the camera (because you take a picture of every number you paint)
Take all the 10 000 pictures and use them in a slideshow with background music you like (or componate yourself)
When you are done, you can promote your whole idea for free in the media (because its a new thing nobody\’s ever seen)
* Good luck *

Free Baseball games! Who knew?
The following tip may vary from stadium to stadium
Better Off Late
Here\’s a tip we discovered accidentally. We happened to have free tickets to a local minor league baseball game, so we decided to attend even though we would be late. We arrived at the ballgame during the fifth inning, and to our surprise, we did not have to pay for parking. And no one was there to collect our tickets! I inquired with the team office the next day and found out that parking and admission to the game is always free at the bottom of the fifth inning. My kids were thrilled when they found out we could attend all the home baseball games as long as we came late!
Imagine all of those times we have said, \”Hurry up. We don\’t want to be late.\” Well, going to the baseball game is now one time we can be glad we\’re late!
